Thomas,

I had someone ship my car (I can't remember his name off hand), but if you email me tomorrow sometime between 9-4, I'll get it to you. He wasn't too cheap, but he did premium cars, and if you REALLY want to ensure the car is done right, this guy is worth calling. He was hauling a 49 Packard and a few other classic cars in his enclosed trailer.

He picked it up in 2 days (was coming cross country) and brought it to my buddy's body shop the next afternoon. Yes, I caught him at the right time, but he did the job as discussed.

Good luck,
-Rich

I've got some experience with this. What you're dealing with is an industry that uses a lot of brokers and freight forwarders, so few of the websites you'll find online are actually auto shippers. I believe that DAS is both a carrier and a broker and I've heard good things about them. Having the car delivered to your address (door-to-door) is more expensive than if they shipped to a terminal. You should ask them if that's an option. If not, I know A-1 Auto Transport offers terminal shipping. https://www.a1autotransport.com/

DAS is a good carrier. They're "too big" in my opinion and I hear that cars sometimes get held up at their terminals. I've used them to ship cars for some of my clients in the past. Would use again.

A1 Auto Transport however is NOT a real shipping company anymore. They used to be years ago. Their website looks like a real shipping company but they are simply a LEAD GENERATING company. In other words, they sell the info you fill out on their site to 5-10 companies who will then aggressively try to sell you their "service". I highly recommend not taking that route.

USHIP has been okay lately for some people. However, many of the same brokers who buy leads from A1 are on USHIP. They look like "carriers" but most bidders are brokers USHIP.

Feel free to reach out to me on my site: http://www.advantageautomovers.com. I'm an independent auto shipping agent and would love to help anyone on this forum. Been in this industry for over 10 years now. Even if that's a simple quote. Quotes are free and I won't beat around the bush by trying to low-ball other quotes. I'll give an honest estimate and you guys can decide for yourself.

Sincerely,
Andre M
