Abarth Price "Scalping"

Post by Muck » Wed Feb 01, 2012 9:41 am

After seeing a new Abarth at the Phila Auto Show... WE WANT ONE! In your opinion, do you think dealers will "gouge" you for pricing? I remember a local Buick dealer here in South Jersey selling a new Buick GNX for $40k over list.

Sticker for the Abarth at the show was right around $25k. My fear is that dealers will try to get 30-35 from it. What's your thoughts?

I fully expect some dealers to do some of this. Fiat does not seem to be discouraging it they way they did when the 500 showed up. There are some dealers who have told us that they will treat FLU members different. We are learning who the good dealers are. Look at FreezeOut for example.

What will happen is what the market will allow. FIAT sales are not strong, but if Abarth is a hot ticket item the dealers will get what they can.

Hey Y'all

Exciting news, our FIAT dealership has started taking orders for the Abarth! We will submit our orders in the beginning of March and expect to get the cars 6 to 8 weeks after that so mid-April. Make sure you put in your reservation now or you will be waiting even longer to get one. My dealership (Hendrick FIAT of Cary) is charging a$ 99 reservation fee this is completely refundable if you change your mind. If you are interested in reserving an Abarth or just want more information feel free to contact me. My email is or you can give me a call at (919 388-4600) and ask for Isaac.

According to our local dealer they are ordering my car early next week. They quoted me the direct price off the price sheet. That being said, by the time I add all the extra stuff and then take it to get it's clear bar put on the nose, it's still just shy of 30.

I hope the 17 inch wheels don't beat me to death driving from DFW to Freakout.
