Sport Button

Post by JarrodWeaver » Tue Jun 14, 2011 4:07 pm

Does anyone have the true effect of pushing the "sport" button? I can tell a reasonable difference in acceleration when it is selected so I assume it is merely a different ignition/fuel map. Would like to see something offical as to what happens when it is pressed. Also wish it was the default setting and was labeled "eco" for when someone wants to hypermile - guess no one would press it then...

its a different timing and fuel map.

ethanol blands may "dilute" the effectiveness of the Sport button. Heat will also effect the effect, so to say.

But in driving the several 500's I have been able to tell the difference.

There is noticable increase in acceleration with the sport button pushed. Would be cool if it also had an exhaust bypass like the Maserati does. Guess if it cost $100,000 more they could work that out.

The Quattroporte Sport GT S makes me feel weak - I love that car!
