New owner 124 spider

Post by davidharding » Mon May 25, 2015 3:44 pm

:headbang: I have just bought a Fiat 124 spider (1978) and already have problems. So I would appreciate helpful advice. I need to replace the starter. The carb is removed---Do I need to remove the manifold? or is there an easier access? The starter bolts are not the issue -- weird wrenches are available----but then what???

I have found extremely long extensions and attacking the starter from below. It is never an easy job. Be sure you get the push on (Faston) connector on the solenoid. Welcome to the Spider group.

There is also one position of the steering that the frees the removal. It is either hard left or right to lock.
