New Crazy Fiat Owner with What seems to be an uncommon car

Postby NZ2300 » Wed Jan 17, 2007 7:55 am

Hello,
I have recently purchased 2 Fiat 2300 Cars, A sedan and a Wagon, I cannot find out much about these cars anywhere and hoped that here would be the best place.
Hopefully someone can give me more information on these cars.

Jack:
Welcome to the FLU site. The 2300 was not common in the USA but they look like fun projects. I am a fan of vintage wagons.
Hang around and someone will confess to knowing about these.

Cheers

Welcome Jack. Looks like a fun car to restore.

I've never seen one that I can recall. I'm not even sure Fiat offered the car here officially, though I have picked up sales literature on them and know a few did make it here.
Probably your best bet to find more on these would be mainland Europe and possibly the UK. North America is, sadly, probably going to yield you very little.

Fiat 2300 Sedan/Wagon

Hi Jack,
Welcome to the forum!
Our friends over at Sports Car Market magazine did a long series of articles on an old Fiat sedan like yours. I think it was called "America by Fiat". They drove the car across the USA and then put it on E bay and sold it. I think the feature story was running during most of 2005. They had several drivers taking part and writing the story about the car along the way. Some of our listed vendors sold parts for the car as things broke. I think their car was a 1960 model but will have to go back to my past issues to find out.
The magazine is sold at Barnes & Noble or see them online at www.sportscarmarket.com

You might try checking the timing as well.
Good luck

The 2300 wagon was a pretty awesome car unfortunately I can't see your pics though.
