Fiat pulls left HARD when braking...

Post by marcellic » Thu Sep 04, 2014 8:43 am

My Fiat 124 Spider (1980) pulls left HARD when I apply the brakes. Slight left pull when not applying the brakes. Tires are fair, brake lines are good, calibers seem to be working properly. However the issue is still here. Has anyone had a similar issue or think they may know what is wrong?

Pulling hard to the left generally means that the right front brake isn't working. I would suspect that either the caliper is frozen, or the flexible brake line is internally collapsed. Not difficult to diagnose or repair either of these issues. If one side is bad, the other one probably isn't far behind. Good luck!

Alternate cause could be; Rear 'traction bars' bushings shot in either, one, or the other. (unintended 'rear' steer..)
It was a condition came across when we were a dealer 66-82

(collapsed rubber internal brake hose also possibility

What is the rust situation on the upper strut mount? I have seen many rust out there and cause this problem.
