VIN identification for year info

Post by MuttHut » Thu Sep 10, 2009 11:26 pm

Hi Everyone; We are looking at buying a Fiat 600 with Suicide doors, and the owner has no clue as to the year. I have the info from the vin plate and was wondering if anyone could tell me what the year would be? This is the info that I have;

Motor 100,000 Engine 883016
Auto 100 Chassis 809736
No. Spares /11319
No. Body 214 Top 214

The car if fully intact but without the motor, the tranny is somewhat there, lets say someone butchered it out, but hopefully we can save this old girl from the scrap heap.

Thanks for the help and great site with a whole lot of info.

Peter

There may be knowledgeable Fiat 600 people on the site, but you may want to check with Chris Obert. I believe he sells parts for these little jewels. Check it out at http://www.fiatplus.com/

Vin identification

Thanks Denise, I contacted Rob at FiatPlus and he told me it is a 1960, what we kind of figured. So now the next step is to find and engine for it. Not too many choices here in Canada for parts.

Are you too far away for any help from your Ontario counterparts?

Hi There,
I have a 1973 FIAT SEAT 600(D?).
I guess it was made in Spain as it says SEAT and all the writing is in Spanish.
But I can't make head or tail of the numbers.
