"Charley Jeffries of Weath-erly, Pa., couldn't afford $7,750 for a new Beta, but in 2003, he bought his 1975 coupe from a used-car dealer. It was an excellent 43,000-mile original that had been stored for 12 years. Its fuel-system problems were addressed, and Jeffries rebuilt the brakes and replaced the weatherstripping. Otherwise, he's only detailed it. With extensive exterior brightwork and abundant interior plastic, the car's era is obvious, but the wood steering wheel is beautiful, and there's nothing wrong with the dashboard's layout.
