Lancia Beta Gear Linkages

Post by freddie » Wed Mar 28, 2007 4:17 pm

I have a 77 Lancia Beta Coupe. On 2 ocassions now the gear linkages have failed with the gears being locked in 5th and 2nd respectively.

I'm told that the problem is a nylon nuckle that colapses and needs replacement.

I've noticed that the shift action has become quite stiff and laboursome requiring extra effort. Is the something else that should be done to improve the reliability of the shift linkages.

Freddie,

FLU's own John Montgomery has manufactured a shift bushing replacement kit. I have them on two of my cars and they work perfectly. Worth doing!

Dan, I will investigate this. How do I communicate with John Montgomery.

If I remember right Fred, Bruce's parts bin or Vick's Auto are selling them for him. I'd check with them first. If that doesn't work, he has to have an email link on this site.
