Re: How to fix fuel pump problem

What year/model of Fiat? Seems to me there is a safety system on some models that shuts off the fuel flow when the oil pressure is below a certain point, so the engine will not run when there is insufficient pressure, helping to avoid bearing failure.

Re: Dent repair on bonnet

Are you familiar with "stud welders"? With one of these, you spot weld a series of small pins onto the surface of the metal surrounding the dent, then pull out the dent using a slide hammer, snip off the pins, then grind smooth and refinish/repaint. No holes to drill. May be available from a good re...

Re: What year is this Fiat 600

Good day, Officer; According to my listing, a tipo 100.141 is a USA version of the 600 Multipla, and your chassis number (031509) falls within the range of examples produced in 1957 (020720-036129). It is possible that if this car was first sold to a retail customer in 1958, it may have been origina...

Re: Fiat Multipla Parts Wanted

I'm owner of a 1958 Multipla in Washington State - where are you? I'd love to hear about your car!

I'm sure I saw someone advertising Multipla doors, just within the last week. Haven't been able to find the listing, won't give up!

Re: Hello all

Yippee! Another Multipla owner! I've had mine (1958 6-seater) for about 20 years, nicely restored, people love it! I've collected a ton of old magazine articles, manuals, brochures, models, etc. My stepson and I did a video presentation, about 12 minutes long, I think. Can probably send it to you if...

Re: fiat 1500 cabriolet 1964 steering column switch

I doubt if this will help, but just in case... I have a couple of used turn signal switches that I removed many years ago, one from an early 850 Coupe, and one from a Siata Spring. The listing on Chris Obert's site says that the part number on these switches (4132136) MAY be the same as a late 1500 ...

Re: Reverse rotation 903cc

See if you can get a copy of chapter 13 ("How to Convert to Fiat 850 Power") from Greg Schmidt's book. Or if it isn't available, I might be persuaded to scan and send it to you, if you're not in a big hurry. This has 11 pages on the subject. Jeff

Re: Inherited 1961 1200 Vetture Speciali

Wow! You should have no problem at all finding a buyer for that one. The #1 concern is always going to be RUST, but yours appears to be much better than average. Two questions: 1) Can we assume that there is an engine under the hood, and that it is complete? 2) The windscreen is either smashed, or c...

Re: 850 Sport Exhaust Wanted

I have a brand new 850 Sport exhaust that came with a batch of parts I bought years ago. Never mounted. Has some surface rust that should be easy to remove with a little elbow grease and VHT paint. I can provide pix if wanted. If a new one is $197 + shipping, I'll sell this one for $150 total, inc. ...

Re: Fiat pulls left HARD when braking...

Pulling hard to the left generally means that the right front brake isn't working. I would suspect that either the caliper is frozen, or the flexible brake line is internally collapsed. Not difficult to diagnose or repair either of these issues. If one side is bad, the other one probably isn't far b...

Re: Fiat 850 Carburetor - JET

Are you talking about the sprayer for the "accelerator pump main metering jet", that looks like a little faucet spout? If so, this is Fiat part #9914514, and Obert's site lists it in stock for $2.75. Good luck!

Re: '73 850 Spider won't start

Are you CERTAIN that you have no spark at all? You can disconnect the primary coil wire from the distributor cap, hold the terminal about 1/8" from a solid grounding point, crank over the engine, and you don't get a spark? If so, there are quite a number of possibilities to explore, none of them par...

Re: Fiat 850 Spyder Peddle Assembly needed

I have a pedal assembly sitting in my storage loft, I know it's from one of the 850's I parted out, it appears to be an exact match for the one illustrated in diagrams B1.01/1 and C1.01/1 (1-1971) of the 850 parts catalog. The pivot shaft seems to movely smoothly and easily for both the clutch and t...
