New Dyno results for the old E Prod Racer, now NASA PT-A

Been experimenting with E85 on my race engine, and today right before loading onto the trailer for the NASA weekend at High Plain Raceway in Byers, Colorado, my DynoJet says: 174.23 WHP, 135.46 WTQ. Typical loss for front engine rear drive live axle is 15%, so the numbers for crank with that loss wo...

as mentioned on another active thread: I hesitated to mention this, as there are strong negative opinions about E85, but this is a fuel that can be used for engines that require more octane than is readily available in the current marketplace. Conversion is attainable for both our carbie and EFI FIA...

Ted, i am behind in updating the pictures on my website for the Abarth replica, and I don't have any picts of the racer since i completely rebuilt it (the one that was in Fire breathing FIATs). I have updated the car to run in NASA Performance Touring, in PT-A. I will have the car out next at the ne...

Mark, Wasn't meant to be a bash of any kind. I believe I mentioned I thought your new ignition offering is a good product, based on a sound method of providing a good, clean spark (sensor to wasted spark). Just not for me on my car, as I was looking to preserve a vintage look. I got exactly what I w...

racydave,
And that is very true. A true crankfire has very little to go wrong mechanically, and the So-Cal system is a distributor-like engine-driven mechanical device. Nice though that it's solid state electronically, and the wasted spark coil(s) keep the combustion clean.

Walter, I had already made my purchase before you posted, and I didn't mention anything about underhood appearance until after you posted. No worries, W. Mark's new device represents a good "poor man's crankfire" ignition, and is a good product offering. I had also posted on FS.com, looking for help...

But that's not what we're discussing... I chose the device that looks like a distributor, because it looks like a distributor. It preserves the proper look under the hood. This wasted spark doohicky you show has other stuff that needs to be mounted somewhere under the hood, and would disturb the cla...

Denise, Say hey to Jim for me. He knows my brother Mark, who races a Lancia Scorpion, directly, and me indirectly. Tell him I will have more up on my website soon regarding the Stradale replica. Zoom, zoom never, FORZA Forever! Alvon, I read the directions, plain as mud to me, but that's just me. I ...

Hi, Denise, how's the racing going? Haven't posted here in a long while. The link is www.123ignition.nl I bought this for the 1756 in my Abarth replica. Never had any luck with any distributor from my parts supply. I had been working with someone that was going to build a block-mount dizzy, and just...

New IAP Distributor

Does anyone here know about the new IAP Dizzy? Curious about this one. Looked up the instructions on 123 Ignition.nl, and it is somewhat confusing about install and what to do with the vacuum advance.

Any help?

Put-Man, Sounds like a fuel delivery problem. Check if the Fuel Pump gets HOT, after running for the 45 seconds, and replace the fuel filter. The filter might solve the problem, or both the filter and the pump might need replacement. Also, replace all of the soft fuel lines with new fuel hose (EFI h...
