This thread is a good example of honesty gone astray in advice. Before anyone builds an engine that might have the 2 liter 1800 head combination and HC pistons involved STOP and learn what you are doing BEFORE you become another victim. We have several fiats running around that sound like jackhammer...

Just to set the record straight, the valves dont really leak BY what they do is leak BACK when you expect a complete bypass you get a partial bypass. But in the end it means a hot heater core :( I have got installed a electro-vacuum switch to operate the valve. It works good. It is operating of the ...

The problem is not the switching but the plumbing. You have to give the coolant a place to go when its switched. We tried a few common methods and have had difficulty . It seems the bypass valves today are not made to completely stop the flow in one direction but to devert a majority of the water in...

the heater valve only works for the Scorpion as it already has vacuum control.
I have been working on a set up for the Spider with no success yet.

the heater valve was a 1987 Cadillac Eldorado Valve. You have to make a little manafold for it , simple pipeing. This is a bypass system that will not cut of flow to the back of the head when the heat is turned of but will simply direct the flow elsewhere. As for the cam grinding. Never was one for ...

interesting system looks like the pick up is using the old point off the block. Woud like to hear from some experienced users. I might just go for that some day on my Brown Spider.

No experience with his set up, can you send me some info on it. If I ever do another engine build I will also do something like that to get away from the dizzy problems :( I ended up useing the exhaust side dizzzie from a Strada with a crane box. worked well but a crank sensor would be great :)

You will just have to go shopping for cams. I would stick with the stock cams until you happen on some good used Alquati cams on the net. There are no new ones being made that I know of. Cams are not the magic bullet some think they are. Get your engine running good first and then when you find the ...

I would suspect the 1800 head with its smaller combustion chamber has created a CR problem. Some disagree but a 2 liter with high compresssion pistons usually can not run on street gas with a 1800 head. I ran just about the limit with my Scorp with a 2 liter with the big domed pistons with a 2 liter...

Beta on 124

Yes Shaun is right, you can bolt them right on and by using two spacers they will simply look awsome However beaware you have just removed one of the safety aspect of your car. You no longer have what is called hub centric front wheel safety. That is you are now rideing completely on the integrity o...
